Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of character values, particularly discipline and self-confidence, through drumband and dance extracurricular activities at TK Bhakti Family, Bengkulu City. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that well-structured extracurricular activities, supported by consistent schedules and clear rules, effectively foster children’s discipline in terms of time management, adherence to regulations, and appropriate behavior during practice sessions. In addition, the involvement of instructors, teachers, and parental support plays a crucial role in developing children’s self-confidence through practice, performance experiences, and constructive feedback. Overall, drumband and dance activities serve as effective platforms for nurturing character development in early childhood. These findings are expected to provide insights for early childhood education institutions in optimizing extracurricular programs as part of character education.
