This research was conducted due to the importance of creating an inclusive and accessible educational environment for all individuals, including persons with disabilities. As a key facility on campus, the laboratory building should accommodate the needs of all users. However, preliminary observations revealed several issues, such as ramps with inadequate slope, the absence of ramps on internal staircases, and toilet facilities that are not disability-friendly. The aim of this study is to evaluate the extent to which Universal Design principles have been implemented in the building, using a descriptive qualitative method through direct observation. Each Universal Design principle was assessed and converted into a percentage score to determine its level of implementation. The findings indicate that the application of Universal Design principles in the laboratory building at Polinela remains low, with an average score of only 31%. This suggests that the building does not yet meet the required standards of accessibility and comfort for persons with disabilities. Therefore, improvements are necessary, including the addition of ramps, toilet renovations, installation of automatic sliding doors, and provision of visual and tactile information, in order to make the campus more inclusive and accessible to all users.
