This study aims to analyze the effect of the thickness of H Beam on its bending capacity in structural steel applications. H Beams are commonly used in various construction applications, where the thickness of the flange and web plays a crucial role in determining the strength and stability of the beam under bending forces. Experiments were conducted by testing several variations of H Beam thicknesses, including 5 mm, 10 mm, 15 mm, 20 mm, and 25 mm, to measure the maximum bending capacity and deflection that occurs at each thickness. The results show that as the thickness of the H Beam increases, the maximum bending capacity significantly increases, while the maximum deflection decreases. The study also incorporated numerical simulations using ANSYS software to analyze the stress distribution and bending capacity of the H Beam with different thicknesses. The experimental results and simulation outcomes demonstrated a strong correlation, indicating that the thickness of the H Beam has a positive impact on the structural strength and stiffness of the beam. This research provides valuable insights for designing the optimal H Beam for steel structures, considering both bending capacity and material efficiency.
